Building on the UN Secretary-General’s Call to Action, which highlights the growing risks of more frequent and intense heat driven by climate change, the IBC on Environment and Climate Change organised a webinar on Building heat-resilient cities: sustainable cooling & urban solutions on 14 April 2026, 10:00–11:30 CEST.
The session focused on heat resilience and sustainable cooling as well as other solutions to address urban heat as a cross-cutting risk requiring systemic, multi-sector responses. It highlighted the importance of strengthened extreme heat risk governance and explored how UN country teams can better integrate these considerations into national development planning and interagency programming.
