The Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in Kazakhstan has asked the United Nations Inter-Agency Issue-Based Coalition (IBC) on Environment and Climate Change for Europe and Central Asia for targeted guidance on supporting a just transition from mining and fossil fuels to a green economy.

RCO is interested in good practices from programme countries in greening industries and creating new sustainable sectors to generate inclusive and decent employment opport-unities, for example, in cities dominated by a single polluting industry. What role can the UN play in the just, green transition, in terms of conceptualization, policy advice, programming, partnerships and advocacy?

Representatives of ILO, OHCHR, UNECE, UNIDO and PAGE have kindly offered their time to deliver this webinar within the framework of the Coalition. The webinar will be recorded and made available to other UNCTs.
