The war in Ukraine has led to a large-scale humanitarian and refugee crisis, not only in Ukraine but also across the world.

In line with its mandate to facilitate knowledge and information sharing for the UNCTS, the Issue-based Coalition on Sustainable Food Systems (IBC-SFS) developed a digital repository to gather key UN agencies’ messages, available evidence, analysis, tools and policy recommendations from the UN agencies on the impact of the war on food systems in the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region and beyond.

The digital repository plays a central role in inter-agency collaboration on sustainable development in the ECA region and will serve as a crucial vehicle to enhance access of Resident Coordinators, UN Country Teams, governments and other stakeholders to information, support offers, knowledge and expertise of the regional UN system through a consolidated online entry point. It supports strengthening collaboration and communication on the implications of the conflict on food systems in the ECA region and beyond.

The digital repository fosters the ability of the IBC-SFS and its members to communicate and disseminate up-to-date information on the implications of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, in line with its nature and mandate of advocating for and facilitating coordinated support for strengthening food systems in the Europe and Central Asia region through multi-sectoral approaches which capitalize on the expertise of several UN agencies.
